EXCITING NEWS!!!
[wingnut] [12:25 pm - 05 Feb 2010]
.
SLP has a once in a lifetime opportunity due to EXCELENT timing and a little bit of good fortune!

We have a venue change for the upcoming event and it is going to make this event all that much more AWESOME. The new venue is going to be what used to be the Biomedical Physical Sciences LIBRARY (That big room right next to the atrium with the glass walls). This is a HUGE room that will allow us to have the PC LAn and Console Cafe all in the same room! This room used to be the library in the BPS building but is being transitioned to something else and demolition in there starts on Monday so we just squeaked in!

Here is the layout of the room if you are interested

1440 BPS LAN ROOM LAYOUT

As far as reserved seating goes, all reserved seats will still apply, however if you would like to switch to a seat that is NOT currently reserved when you arrive you may do so. If you look at the seating chart on the event site (Seating Chart) and number the banks of tables starting at the left with 1 and the last on the right being 7 you will see how the tables correlate to the new layout in the image link above.

We are excited to have this awesome venue available to us for this lan and know it will make the experience that much better! We look forward to seeing everyone!

Important Arival Information
[wingnut] [11:22 am - 02 Feb 2010]
.
========Reserve Your Seat========
We are expecting to have our best turnout yet based on pre-registration numbers so to be guaranteed that seat in the PC-LAN be sure to reserve your seat by clicking on the seating map link above. You must be paid to reserve a seat. If we are full those who have reserved a seat are guaranteed one, any unreserved seats are first come first serve. If you have any questions or issues about seat reservation the best place is to post on our forums at LAN REGISTRATION SUPPORT :: SLP-XVII.

There will be a number of areas for console gamers to set up their console/screen and play in the console room, however these seats are first come first serve.

========Parking========
There are several lots around the building that you can park in during the event for free. Check out the map posted on the event site for the parking areas which are labeled. NOTE: Pay attention to parking signs, SLP will not be responsible for any parking tickets for not parking in proper areas.

========Unloading========
There is a loading zone on the Wilson road side of the biochemistry building (right under the text "SLP Event Entrance" on the map) where you can park to unload your stuff. There should be no driving on sidewalks.

========Phone Numbers========
Here are important phone numbers if you run into any troubles, they should be used in this order:
1 Event Room: 517-884-5501
2 Ehren's (Wingnut) Cell: 517-795-0516
3 Steve's (Assassin) Cell: 517-414-0997

SLP RAFFLE!
[wingnut] [11:21 am - 02 Feb 2010]
.
How the raffle works:

Every attendee will receive one free raffle entry with paid admission, so everyone has at least one shot! Anyone who wishes may purchase up to 5 additional raffle tickets at $1 each to improve your chances. We are also including at least one cash prize from your friends at SLP of $50! The Cash prize will be drawn first so that everyone has a chance at it. In the past we have done a 50/50 drawing, however those that purchased 50/50 tickets were only eligible for that drawing, one shot. This way some of the proceeds generated in ticket sales will make up the $50 cash prize, the rest will go to help and support SLP in our continuing efforts to expand and provide reliable LAN infrastructure. So when you purchase additional tickets you are not only helping yourself to have a better chance at winning the sweet prizes as posted previously, you are helping SLP!

Remember that SLP is a not for profit gaming group, so no one on our staff or anyone associated with SLP makes a dime off of our events, all revenue (if any) goes toward expenses of the next event. We have done a great job at staying barely in the positive so that we can offer a fun and affordable LAN event, and we think we are the best value around!

SLP-XVII:: Waiver
[wingnut] [09:07 am - 02 Feb 2010]
.
The waiver for this event has been posted to this site, you can download and print it ahead of time by clicking the policy link in the control panel on the right side of the page or you can find it directly --> here

Anyone under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Everyone should have some form of photo ID on them incase requested.

Tentative Schedule
[wingnut] [09:02 am - 02 Feb 2010]
.
Here is the tentative LAN schedule. Keep in mind some times may change slightly but overall it should look very much like this.

We will add in our Got2H (Game of the 2 Hours) games a couple days before the lan. Got2H is something we have done for the last few lans in which we set 2 hour timeframes every 2 hours and list a specific game, durring that time anyone who has that game who wants to play, plays that game. This has been a good way to get everyone interested in different games together all at once, completely optional of course.
